Water Cannabis Plants Love Drinking

  • WATERING
  • October 21, 2022

What is the water cannabis plants love drinking? Well, it depends on the type of water you use. Whether you have hard or soft water, the quality of your water will determine how healthy your cannabis plants will be.

Different types of water can contain different minerals and nutrients that your hybrid cannabis plants absorb. We have put together a guide to the different types of water and their effects on your plants.

In this article, we will cover the different types of water when growing cannabis, whether it is a regular cannabis seed or a feminized seed. Now, let’s first discuss the benefits and pros of having a water filter when growing your cannabis.

Pros And Benefits of Water for Growing Cannabis

Growing cannabis is challenging, but with the proper tools and knowledge, you can do it. One of the most important things you need to know is the type of water you should use for your plants.

Now let’s dig up the pros and benefits of using water for growing cannabis:

Water is essential for the survival of your cannabis plants. Just like humans, plants need water to grow and stay healthy. It helps transport nutrients and minerals to the plants. Aside from helping keep the leaves of the regular cannabis plant moist, which prevents them from burning under the hot sun, it also helps the plant to produce its own food through photosynthesis.

Aside from being essential for a plant’s survival, water can also help increase the yield of your cannabis crop. That is because when the roots of your plants are properly hydrated, they can grow faster and reach deeper into the soil, which allows them to absorb more nutrients. This results in healthier and bigger cannabis plants that can produce more buds.

Lastly, water can also help improve the quality of your cannabis buds. When the plants are properly hydrated, they produce more resin, which is responsible for the strong smell and taste of the hybrid feminized cannabis plant.

Water Filtration For Cannabis Cultivation

Nowadays, water filters are not only used for drinking water but also used to filter water for growing cannabis. When you grow cannabis plants indoors or outdoors, you will need to use a water filter to remove any chlorine and other chemicals that might be in your water. These chemicals can harm your plants and reduce the quality of your buds.

A water filter will also remove any impurities and sediment from your water, which will make it easier for your plants to absorb the nutrients they need.

Filtered water is free of chlorine and other chemicals that can harm your plants. It contains fewer impurities and sediment, making it easier for your plants to absorb nutrients. Plus, it makes your cannabis plant healthier and your buds more potent.

Additionally, filtered water is also great for the environment since it doesn’t pollute the soil and groundwater with harmful chemicals. Using a water filter can save you money in the long run, as you won’t need to buy bottled water or replace your filters as often. It tastes better than tap water, so your regular cannabis seeds will have a better flavor.

Now that you know the pros and benefits of using water for growing cannabis let’s move on to the different types of water and their effects on your plants.

Different Types of Water for Growing Cannabis Plants

In our list, we have tap water, reverse osmosis, tap water, distilled, and spring water.

Why Not Use Tap Water to Grow Cannabis?

Tap water is the most common type of water used to grow cannabis. It is safe and easy to use but may contain chemicals or other impurities that can harm your plants. That is why it is important to test your water before using it on your plants.

To test your water, you will need a water quality testing kit. Simply follow the instructions on the kit to test your water for chlorine, ammonia, nitrates, and other impurities. If your water contains high levels of chlorine or other chemicals, you can use a water filter to remove them.

Why Use Reverse Osmosis to Grow Cannabis?

Reverse osmosis water is filtered water that has been treated to remove impurities. It is also known as RO water. Did you know that reverse osmosis filters water through semi-permeable membranes? The reverse osmosis water is forced through the filter, leaving the impurities behind. This process removes up to 99% of impurities, including chlorine, sediment, and heavy metals.

Reverse osmosis water is safe for your plants and will help them grow faster and produce bigger buds. However, it is important to note that reverse osmosis water does not contain any minerals, so you will need to add them back into the water before using them on your plants.

Distilled Water for Growing Cannabis?

Aside from the fact that distilled water has been boiled and then condensed back into a liquid. This type of water removes impurities and minerals which is safe for your cannabis plants. However, like reverse osmosis water, it does not contain any minerals, so you will need to add them back into the water before using them on your plants.

Spring Water for Growing Cannabis?

Since the earth naturally filters spring water, it has a big advantage over other types of water. Spring water already contains minerals that are essential for plant growth. It also has other nutrients like calcium and magnesium, essential for plant growth.

Additionally, spring water has a balanced pH level, which is ideal for cannabis plants. Spring water is also great for the environment since it doesn’t pollute the soil and groundwater with harmful chemicals. It is safe for your cannabis plants to grow faster and produce bigger buds. The downside is the cost.

Water Cannabis Plants Love drinking

Now that we’ve gone over the different types of water you can use when growing cannabis, including tap water, reverse osmosis, distilled, and spring water. It’s important to remember that each type of water has its own set of pros and cons. The best water for growing cannabis will depend on your specific needs and preferences.

If you’re looking for the safest option, reverse osmosis or distilled water is the way. Reverse Osmosis is the best way to roll in a home garden allowing you to use the cleanest water possible.

Spring water is a great option if you’re looking for water to help your plants grow faster and produce bigger buds. Spring water contains essential minerals and nutrients that are necessary for plant growth. Additionally, spring water has a balanced pH level, which is ideal for cannabis plants.

No matter what type of water you choose, test it before using it on your plants. By using your EC/PPM you can test the water you use to make sure you use the purest water. Failure to test your water can lead to nutrient burn and slow growth.

Now that we have discussed the different types of water you can use when growing cannabis, let’s discuss the best way to water your plants.

How to Water Your Hybrid Cannabis Plants?

When watering your cannabis plants, it’s important to give them enough water so their roots can absorb all the nutrients they need. However, you don’t want to over-water them, which can lead to problems like root rot.

The best way to water your plants is to use a soaker hose or drip system. This will allow you to water your plants slowly and evenly, ensuring their roots have time to absorb all the water they need. You should also avoid watering your plants in the evening, which can encourage mold growth.

Flushing Cannabis

Now you’re at the end of the journey and want the best taste for your plants. Some say flushing is unnecessary, and I agree if you’re an organic grower. But if you use nutrients throughout the process, you want to flush the salts or other buildup out of the media for the best flavor. How much should you use per gallon? I like to use about 1 gallon a day in a 5-gallon pot for at least one week. If you can, checking runoff can help you note your EC/PPM levels to ensure your minerals are no longer within the media.

Final Thoughts

If you have trouble getting a reverse osmosis system in your garden, your next best step is using a water mort to fill 5-gallon jugs. I know it can be a headache, but you must do what you must for the ultimate flower. Here is what I use in my garden with much success and easy installation Hydro-Logic Stealth RO 150 GPD Reverse Osmosis.

You can use tap water if you live in an area with a low mineral count, but again, you can run into trouble as the ppm will rise, and the plants won’t receive the proper amounts of NPK and other minerals needed to flourish.
